Welcome to my Studio – I hope you enjoy your visit!
Some of these are aren't watercolor seaweeds.?? Catch my stories to see one of the tiny brushes I used to create some of these. ?? Painting background elements for the ?? book I'm currently working on. I'm thinking of making that pale pink seaweed in the middle into paint. It's a variety of red algae - Red Shields. Like many red seaweeds, it produces a skeleton of calcium carbonate that gives it structural strength. It feels "stone" like, and is a lighter colour than most red seaweeds. It has dried very brittle and powdery, and would be quite opaque as a paint I think.
What do you see? Seeweeds swaying on an undersea reef? This piece took about 2 minutes to create, and is so easy to do. 1. Get 2 thin sheets of acetate, (I cut up plastic packets used for Christmas cards/ blister packaging etc). 2. Drip runny acrylic paint onto one acetate sheet. 3. Place the other acetate sheet on top and squish down firmly. The paint will smoosh and merge together. 4. Carefully peel apart the acetate sheets and print both sheets onto paper, or you can leave the paint on the acetate, the choice is yours. 5. Let the paint dry and your artwork is created! ??
One of the very first times I used Sodalite to paint with, a gemstone paint by @danielsmithartistsmaterials. It was love at first stroke!??
Cosmic galaxies fabric designs?????? ????This was a piece for a fun children's clothing collection ??
Here are some Leafy Seadragons for you to paint/colour. I visited them at @aquariumofwesternaustralia late last year, swimming so gracefully entwined with one another. Some of these colours are from my imagination, and I've included the finished painting as a guide if you need it. Otherwise, choose whatever colours you like. Pencils, inks, paints or pastels, choose a paper which suits your chosen medium. You can use a laser printer if you're using wet media so the lines don't run! ?? All files available for free over at my Facebook page or Facebook Downloads (links in my bio ??)
Our precious Blue Dot, in honour of Earth Day ?????????? The finished piece from my last painting video??
